In 2011, a dance company called Motion Playlist was created and became most notable for its diverse style within the dance community. With its chic style and foundational moves rooted in the genre coined by most as hip-hop, Motion Playlist quickly became the melting pot for aspiring dancer within the area. Over the years, Motion Playlist was a constant source of community for many. Although Motion Playlist has since ended, the journey of the dance community continues.
.VERSITY Dance Company LLC is the journey continued.
There are stories yet to be told and chapters waiting to be written. With a world that is constantly evolving, there is a new era of dance that is waiting to be discovered.
Join us on our journey as we seek to venture dance into new heights while maintaining the integrity of what has already been paved for us.

OUR .NAME
We begin with a period. Though that mean the ending, the beginning, or the space between, it is a symbol to represent the period of time itself. It stands out and also sits between what defines us.
a uni.VERSITY filled with di.VERSITY to overcome ad.VERSITY through dance
YOU are the period that stands between, but now, you are the symbol that takes the lead.
“VERSity” begins with the word “verse” in reference to music while the suffix “-ity” is defined as “the quality of.” When paired together, we get “the quality of music.” Dance is “the quality of music.”
“VERSITY” is a play on the word “VARSITY” which is the most skilled and experience players in a program.
